Exterior ambience with birds chirping and very slight rain. It's all quite relaxing, if i do say so myself. Recorded on a stereo pair of akg c568 b microphones, into a sound devices 633 recorder. Trimmed in adobe audition with a gentle high pass filter, no other effects added.

Thunderstorm, late night with rain falling on a quiet urban neighborhood side street of a large u. S. City. 4:30. The rain decreases over the recording. Good bits of distant thunder. Distant sirens in the last half of the recording. Some distant traffic noise, and a couple of cars passing close. I didn't notice until afterwards that i had the recorder set in mp3 format. Given another chance i'd redo as a 48/24 wav, but it doesn't rain all that often here, and the quality on this recording is still very good, 192kbps. Zoom h4n - mp3 - 44. 1/16.

I recorded it with an optimus tape deck and an old microphone (the tape i recorded it on was a maxell ur), i then used audacity and the same tape deck to convert it to digital. This sound was created by using the memo feature of my digital camera. It was recorded while standing under an overpass during a rain storm. If you listen carefully, you will hear traffic overhead and the rain pelting the ground nearby.
